The person behind Local Web Studio

I'm Danny. I design and build websites for local businesses from Prescot, and if you work with the studio, I'm who you'll deal with, first conversation to launch and beyond. The studio's only website is localwebstudio.co.uk, and it has no connection to localwebstudio.com or any other studio with a similar name.

Why this exists

Local Web Studio started with friends who run their own businesses. I kept hearing the same story: they'd paid decent money for a website, been handed a template with their logo dropped in, and never heard from the designer again. Nobody seemed to take any pride in whether the site actually did anything for the business. That didn't sit right with me. Local businesses are the ones that can least afford to waste money, and they were getting the worst of it. So I started building sites the way I thought they should be built, around the business, with someone who actually cares whether it grows.

How I work

One or two businesses at a time, never a production line. Every site is designed around the business it's for, what you do, who your customers are, what makes someone pick you, rather than adapted from a template. Prices are fixed and agreed before any work starts, and most projects begin with a free concept of your homepage so you can see the direction before committing to a thing.

What every project gets

A fixed quote up front. A site that is yours, design and content, once it is paid for, with the domain in your name from day one (as the terms say). The first year of hosting included. A proper walkthrough at launch so you're not left guessing. And optional care plans afterwards if you'd rather someone kept an eye on things: websites start at £750, with care plans from £65 a month and no long contract.

The work so far

Marlborough Builders in Prescot, SEND Guidance working with families across England, and Lynne's therapy studio twice: first as Pure Eden Wellbeing in St Helens, then, after the move to Rainhill, as Serenity Therapies. Since then, Lynch Property Inspections, a snagging inspector in Prescot, and Travis Arb, tree surgeons in Rainhill. Most recently, two St Helens clinics: Skin at 31 and Rebecca Lee Aesthetics. Seven businesses, eight sites, all built the same way.
