How well is your website actually working?
Paste your web address and get a score out of 100 across the five things that decide whether people find you, trust you and get in touch. Takes about thirty seconds.
No sign up needed for the score.
What the free website audit checks
Five parts, each scored out of 20. Everything below is read from your own page rather than assumed from your trade, so two builders in the same town can score very differently and the report will say exactly why.
Found
The page title, the description Google shows underneath it, the main heading, and whether the page is telling search engines to skip it, which happens by accident more often than you would think. It also checks whether your town appears in the places that matter, because almost every search for a trade carries a place name with it.
Fast
How long the main thing on the page takes to appear, whether the layout moves about while it loads, and how long it sits there looking ready without being able to respond to a tap. Measured with Google Lighthouse on a phone, because a phone is what your customer is holding.
Mobile
Whether the page adapts to the width of a phone, whether it lets somebody pinch to zoom, whether images reserve their space before they load, and whether anything is pinned to a width wider than the screen and forcing people to scroll sideways.
Trusted
A secure connection, a postal address, a phone number, one phone number rather than three, and whether the business is described in a form Google can read well enough to fill in the panel beside a search result.
Contactable
Whether the number is a link that dials when tapped, whether it is near the top where somebody ready to ring will look, whether there is a form for anybody who would rather write, and whether the opening hours are anywhere on the page.
Questions people ask first
- Is the website audit really free?
- Yes. The whole score out of 100, speed included, is free and needs no sign up. The only thing that needs your email is the written PDF report, because it has to be sent somewhere, and that is optional.
- What does the health check actually look at?
- Five things: whether people searching can find you, how fast the page loads, whether it works on a phone, whether it reads like a real business, and whether somebody ready to hire you can actually get hold of you. Every one is measured on your own page. Nothing is estimated and nothing is guessed from your industry.
- Will you use this to sell me a website?
- You get the report either way, and it tells you what to fix whether I do it or somebody else does. If you want to talk it through you can reply to the email, and if you do not, that is the end of it.
- My site was built by somebody else. Can I still check it?
- Yes, and the report is written so you can hand it straight to whoever built it. Every finding says what is wrong and what to do about it, in plain English rather than in codes.
- How long does it take?
- Four of the five parts are back in a second or two. Speed takes another 10 to 30 seconds, because it loads your page the way a phone would and times it, and the score updates when it is done.
- Do you keep my web address or my email?
- The speed measurement is kept for seven days against the web address, so checking the same site again is instant, and nothing about you is kept with it. If you ask for the report I keep your name and email so I can send it and follow up, which is what the consent box covers, and you can ask to be removed at any time. The privacy policy has the detail.
