Terms of Service

These terms cover the work I do for you as Local Web Studio. “I” and “me” mean Danny Andrews, a sole trader trading as Local Web Studio in Prescot, Merseyside. “You” means the client. Every figure here is the same one shown on the pricing page.

What I do

I design and build websites and provide hosting, care plans and search work. The scope, what you get and the price of each project are agreed in writing before any work begins, and the price does not change after that. Anything new that means building something, rather than changing something, is quoted and agreed in writing before I start it. Extra pages are £95 each on any package.

Prices and VAT

Prices are in pounds sterling. Local Web Studio is not VAT registered, so no VAT is charged. The packages are Essentials £750, Signature £1,450, Bespoke from £2,250.

Paying for a website

You choose how to pay. In stages: £100 holds your slot in the diary, and the rest is split across the build, with the final payment due when the site is ready to go live. On Essentials that is £100 to book, £325 at design approval and £325 at launch.

Or over twelve monthly payments: Essentials is £62.50 a month over twelve months; Signature is £120.83 a month over twelve months, and the last payment is £120.87; Bespoke is from £187.50 a month. The twelve payments add up to exactly the one off price, so the total is the same either way.

At the founding rate, in return I ask for a small credit in your website footer and permission to write up your project as a case study. If you would rather not, you pay the standard price.

Hosting

Every build includes twelve months of managed hosting. After that it is £96 a year, and that price is locked for as long as you stay with me. On hosting alone, you renew your domain with the registrar, typically £10 to £15 a year. Every care plan includes it.

Care plans

Care plans are optional and billed monthly. Every care plan includes hosting, so you do not pay the £96 as well. You can cancel with 30 days notice and no fee. Your website stays exactly where it is and you go back to £96 a year for hosting.

Ownership

You own it once it is paid for, in full or on the last instalment, and your domain is registered in your name from day one. That covers the website, the design, the code, your content, your domain, your email and your analytics. If you ever want to move to another developer or host, I hand over the code, the domain and the accounts and answer your new developer’s questions while they get set up. No fee and no notice period. You are never tied into an ongoing contract unless you choose a care plan.

Before you commit, I may build a homepage concept for your business. It is yours to look at, with no charge and no obligation to go ahead.

Liability

I take reasonable care to deliver good work, but I cannot guarantee specific search engine rankings or advertising results. My liability is limited to the fees paid for the specific service in question.
